IN-AWFUL-guration Day is here

AAAAA-RRRRR-GGGGGG-GGGGGGGGGGGGG-HHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Doomsday is upon us. I can't help but think of the words of the late great John Lennon from the Beatles White Album. "Have you seen the little piggies digging in the dirt ...snort...snort...snort..."Look at all the Republican piggies snorting up over 40 million dollars of taxpayers' money. What a waste. T.S. Eliot's Wasteland is upon us. Rumor has it that Mr. Bush expects the good citizens of the district of Columbia to foot the security bill for this obscene fete!?!? Some payback for a district that voted 9-1 for Mr. Kerry?
What did the weather gods have to say?
Mark my words---HUBRIS will be the downfall of Mr. Bush. It is only a matter of time. Great job in appointing Ms. Rice Secretary of State after she was unable to understand the inherent threat in a PDA that she handled as head of the state dept. entitled "Bin Laden plans to attack the US from within..." dated August 2001.
Heaven help us!!!
Lord hear our prayer!

Three daze to the In-AWFUL-guration

Well, sorry for the hiatus-with the week end and the celebration of the late great Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Junior's birthday (his real birthday is January 15th--the same as my dearly departed father) I was unable to blog.
Nevertheless--I read Liz Smith's column this week end and even Liz sees this In-Awful-guration's expense as wrong. She says that the $40 million or more pricetag would be better spent on body armor for our troops that Mr. Bush sent to Iraq or perhaps to add that money to social security???
I could not agree more. This excessive expenditure is OBSCENE!!! What has changed? Mr. Bush is still in office. We are not installing anyone new. What is the reason to party? Even if this were a new president coming in, the pricetag for all of these insipid in-awful-gural balls is wrong. For an incumbent to waste this huge amount of tax payer money for self aggrandizement is obscene!!
Well- at this point in time the gods and goddesses of weather seek to rain or snow on this parade. Let's see what happens.

Six Daze to In-Awful-guration

Well, get ready for the running of the Bulls-now I know that many of you out there in cyber land think that I am referring to Pompalona--and you'd be totally wrong. No-o-o-o-o-o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My inside sources tell me that Mr. Bush (talk about onomatopoeia) is arranging (pun intended)for some Texas long horns to be in the B-I-G In-AWFUL-guration parade on Thursday. Why? You may ask? Well since the whole magilla is a lot of BULL anyway--in a sardonic view it all makes sense.
Now since my dearly beloved Pappy (may he rest in peace) was raised in the biggest RED state and I live in a blue state--I guess that makes me a Purple Stater- how ironically appropriate.
Who is gonna clean up after these bulls? Surely this is an excellent use of taxpayer monies!?!?!?!?
But I digress--last year it rained. What do the gods have in store for this land mine of daze, since Mr. Bush claims to have been given a mandate--no less. Now I am no math teacher, but winning 51% to 49% does not translate into a mandate by my calculations--it must be that fuzzy math.
Allrighty then-time waits for no one and it won't wait for me-courtesy of Mick Jagger. With that being said I will let you digest these Skewed Views in these very Strange Days and get back to you in cyber Future.

In-awful-gural Day Blues

Well, do you dread the Inaugural as much as I do? What a waste of money!?!?! Think of all the children that are being left behind?! Think of all the food that could go to those without food?!

I agree with Jon Stewart's take on this as seen on The Daily Show 1/11/05.

More is to be said
of this that I dread
I'd Rather (pun intended) someone else had won instead
